I built my career in a system resistant to change—a public-sector startup in financial services regulation, bound by tradition. While others embraced the status quo, I couldn’t. I leaned into what I did best: introducing new leadership approaches, driving digital transformation, and mastering communication.

But driving change isn’t easy. I faced skepticism, resistance, and the uphill battle of pushing bold ideas in an environment that wasn’t ready for them. Over the first 20 years of the Commission, I led some of its most transformative initiatives, growing my influence—even when the system pushed back.

And I see the same challenge everywhere: visionary leaders stuck in structures that don’t recognize the value of their ideas.
